Army Specialist Jason Johnston

The Gates Keystone Club Police Pipes & Drums Band performed today to honor a local fallen soldier. Jason Johnston was from Albion NY and was laid to rest in his home town today....May he rest in peace.

 

Welcome!...To our new Band Manager.

Mr. David Staub was voted in as the new/current Band Manager for the Gates Keystone Club Police Pipes & Drums band. Dave is a veteran member of the Monroe County law enforcement and security community with over 35 years of dedicated service. Dave is a retired Monroe County (NY) Sheriff's Deputy serving in the Jail Bureau: male detention section from 1973 - 1980, Police Bureau: patrol, traffic, crime prevention, background investigations and recruit class supervisor from 1980 - 1997.

Dave has done a great job as a snare drummer with the band since 2005 having served previously with the Greece Police Department Northampton Guard Pipes and Drums as a snare drummer.

We know Dave will also do a fine job as our band manager.

Band Practice/Recruitment

GKCPP&D Band on the road!

On May 22, 2010 the band will be traveling to Cleveland Ohio to participate in the Cleveland International Peace Officers Memorial Tattoo to be held at the Public Auditorium.  Police Pipe Bands from around the Country and some from Canada will be performing at this special event to honor our fallen officers.

After a whirlwind weekend of fun and frolics, The Gates Keystone Club Police Pipes and Drums band was pleased to hear that it had taken a "Best in Show" out of 122 units in 15 divisions in Rochester's St. Patrick's Day Parade!!

The band also took 1st place among 5 Pipe Bands at the Buffalo, NY St. Patrick's Day Parade. This was our second consecutive year to win 1st Place.

Great Job Everyone!!

To our own Pipe Major, Gates Police Lieutenant Jim VanBrederode, on his graduation from the very prestigious FBI National Academy, Quantico, Virginia.

Lt. VanBrederode successfully completed a twelve week Police Executive Training Session.
